Calibration & Workshop Team Leader (Metrology / laboratory/ UKAS)

Job Summary:

In this role you will be expected to manage all aspects of the calibration & workshop activities and report on relevant KPIs plus manage shared elements with other parts of the service process. You shall be expected to work closely with the Calibration Manager on reporting productivity and efficiency related aspects of the calibration lab & workshop plus be open to ideas and be proactive in the implementation of future projects. Be able to direct and delegate the team and encourage productivity in a timely manner. Encourage yourself and the team in all aspects of company initiatives from organised meetings to events. Demonstrate and promote the brand values of Endress+Hauser, within and outside of the business. Have transparency within the organisation on business activities and ideas. Work closely with your team on planning work scopes and schedules.

Main responsibilities:

Daily management of the Workshop & Calibration lab.

Overall responsibility for work scheduling.

To ensure a timely response to customer requirements.

Control of workshop spare parts.

Provide an effective interface between the company and the customer for all workshop and calibration service-related aspects.

Ensure technicians complete their training plans as executed in a timely manner.

Monitor and develop the QMS and utilise it to work towards the technicians technical profile.

Maintain the departments standard operating procedures.

Preparation of departmental KPIs monthly and report these to the Calibration Manager.

Work closely with the technicians on company health & Safety issues.

Carry out the annual technicians PDRs.

Continuous improvements & implementation planning around the Workshop & Lab processes.

Maintain our ISO 17025 and UKAS accreditation.

Collaborate with the wider Endress+Hauser business processes.

Qualification + Profile

Ideally educated to HNC

Preferably worked in similar environment

Excellent communication skills.

Experience of supervision of a team

Good commercial acumen

Strong customer service skills

High level of understanding of metrology & uncertainty budgets

Experience working with ISO/UKAS standards

Strong collaboration skills

Highly motivated

Experience in project design & implementation
