Argo Aviation have a unique opportunity to recruit for an enthusiastic experienced Machine Shop Manager to create a new machining facility, due to the exciting new arrival of our clients new Hurco VMX42STRi 5Axis Machine.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of machining processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards and optimising workflow efficiency. The Machining Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing resources, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Summary of Duties – Machine Shop Manager:
• Supervise and manage the machining team to ensure efficient operation and productivity.
• Organise workflow and allocate tasks effectively to meet production deadlines.
• Implement best practices in machining processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations within the workshop.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to facilitate smooth operations.
In order to be successful in the role of Machine Shop Manager you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Experienced in 5 Axis Machining (preferably with a Hurco Machine)
• Understanding programmes and evaluating production drawings
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a machining or manufacturing environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent time management abilities, ensuring that deadlines are consistently met.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, fostering a positive team culture and motivating staff.
• Proficient phone etiquette and strong communication skills are essential for liaising with clients and suppliers.
Requirements for the role: Training Certificates, Updated CV (preferably in Word format). You must hold the Right to Work/Settled Status in the UK – proof is required as part of our shortlisting process.
