As they continue to grow their PMO team,they have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager or an ambitious Assistant Project Manager who will ideally have experience of working within a consultancy environment, supporting construction and engineering projects from feasibility, through design and construction stages until final handover.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will have the opportunity to support be a broad variety of projects within the nuclear, defence, water, civil engineering and general construction sectors, working closely with clients, stakeholders and colleagues from other disciplines.


About the role

Our client is seeking a passionate and commercially astute Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager who can demonstrate a flexible management skillset:
  • A leader with the ability todeliver successful outcomes
  • A collaborative team manager who will work with the whole project team to develop objectives and agree ways of working
  • Experienced in managing NEC 3/4 contracts ensuring compliance with the terms of the contract including management of change control
  • Monitor progress against the schedule managing resources against the baseline and identify variances that require action
  • Monitor financial performance throughout the project and prepare reports for stakeholders
  • Responsibility for Risk Management and developing mitigation plans
  • Manages the consistent application of quality assurance processes and standards
  • Develop and disseminate a stakeholder management and communications plan to meet the objectives of the project.
  • Establish and manage review points, which will inform governance and provide evaluations of progress.

About you

Suitable applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of supporting complex infrastructure projects within nuclear, defence or other highly regulated sectors.
  • PMQ Accredited or working towards
  • Good knowledge of NEC 3/4 forms of contract
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to manage meetings with senior client representatives
  • A collaborative approach including managing large technical teams
  • Proven ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Able to identify and develop a phased approach to delivery, working collaboratively with the client to understand and agree the project requirements
  • Team player, able to deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines and to form effective relationships.
  • Good practical application of Microsoft Software, including Project, Excel and Word
  • Ability to prepare and implement a range of project tools including programmes, risk registers, Stakeholder Management Plans, Project Execution Plans and Quality Assurance Plans
  • Professional and ethical in everything that you do
  • Driving licence preferable
