Role Purpose:
Manage the delivery of large and complex projects within the Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade (TRU) program, collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve project objectives, minimize passenger disruption, and ensure the realization of project benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams to deliver TRU objectives.
  • Oversee project planning, setting milestones, and monitoring progress.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Network Rail, Train Operating Companies, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with project management policies, risk management processes, and legal requirements.
  • Take corrective actions to address issues and monitor project performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Professional qualification in project or program management (e.g., PRINCE2).
  • Extensive experience managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the rail and transport industry.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and financial management skills.
