Financial Services firm with their UK Head office located in Birmingham are looking to hire an experienced Advice Policy Consultant to take ownership of a number of core advice areas in which the firms Financial Advisers operate. 

The role holder will be responsible for developing guidelines, processes and products the Financial Advisers use to engage clients and complete the advice process. Responsibilities will also include working with both internal developers and external suppliers to ensure systems used to provide financial advice are robust and effective to support advice policy and deliver the advice process efficiently whilst maintaining compliance standards.

The business operates a very flexible hybrid working policy with a minimum of 1 - 2 days per month required in the office. 

Role responsibilities:

Take ownership of financial advice areas within which our Financial Advisers operate

Research, develop and enhance advice policy

Create and communicate Advice Policy documentation including advice guidelines, suitability report templates and fact find documentation

Build good relationships with both head office colleagues and Financial Advisers.

Ensure our systems are aligned to support Advice Policy

Conduct regular reviews to ensure any automation in the advice process is continuing to deliver the expected outcome

Ensure providers are delivering good customer outcomes and fair value for money to our clients

Maintaining good relationships with our third-party providers  

As a recognised expert in your area you will be an escalation point for both risk teams, paraplanners and Financial Advisers

Support project initiatives including new systems development, regulatory changes or product developments

Maintain an up to date knowledge of the FCA, ICOB, MCOB, and COBS rules

Personal Attributes & Experience:

Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent and working towards Advanced Diploma

Demonstrated Financial Services Advice experience

Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Regulatory framework of the UK financial services industry

Knowledge of a wide range of financial services products and services including pensions, investments, protection, inheritance tax planning and commercial advice

Financial Advisor experience
