Responsibilities:

* To provide support and financial advice to all levels of the organisation and to inform decision making, recognising the services delivered and the framework in which the business operates.

* Prepare and present effective financial analysis to allow service areas to understand their relative financial performance to demonstrate value for money.

* Deliver a high-quality service which supports Budget Holders to develop and effectively manage a robust budget, attending management team meetings to present financial performance information updating forecasts with explanatory commentary for inclusion in management accounts packs to SLT/Board.

* To produce the Balance Sheet reconciliations for those expense codes identified as being under the control of the Finance Partner for relevant service areas e.g., accruals, prepayments.

* Ensure financial information is provided to the Finance Manager (Operational) in accordance with accounting policies to produce the notes to the financial statements.

* Monitor and review the financial performance of the relevant service areas, explaining complex financial performance to non-financial colleagues.

* Monitor and review compliance expenditure, ensuring service charge costs are appropriately allocated.

* Ensure that financial controls are implemented and applied throughout the organisation in accordance with the Delegatory Framework, and that all reporting deadlines are met.

* Effectively liaise with the Financial Transaction Team to improve systems and processes to improve the quality of accounts adjustments which subsequently minimise the volume/value of said adjustments.

* Provide information to the Finance Director to deliver and continuously improve the organisation's long term financial plans.

* To support on value for money reporting and financial strategy in relation to performance surrounding KPI's and identify and drive cost saving initiatives across the respective areas.

* Understand and model the impacts of operational performance on financials, support modelling reviewing performance surrounding establishment, structure utilisation and customer satisfaction.

* Drive internal system improvements surrounding reporting within systems ensuring the most efficient use of resources within finance.

* Provide training and support to budget holders to enable effective financial management building connections between planned and responsive spend.

* To support internal audit work as required.

* Other duties as and when required
