My client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor that are very well represented in the marketplace. They have an excellent reputation as one of the leading main contractors. They are in the market for a Bid Manager due to development of their pre- construction team.
My client are looking for someone who is confident in managing and leading bids in the construction sector. The Bid Manager candidate should ideally have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in the bidding process, ensuring the relevant resources and project team are managed to achieve required deliverables programme. The team is looking for someone with excellent IT skills, an eye for detail and the ability to make a difference from Day 1.
The successful post-holder will play a vital role in ensuring that we continue to produce the best possible bids, learning from each submission so that we can continuously develop and improve. The role is working within DfE and commercial sectors, their scope of projects range from £12million up to £100million.

Responsibilities:
Review Business Strategy
Develop opportunities into PQQ's or tenders seeking bid writing support as required
Production of PQQ's
Production of tender support documents
Production of written tender submission documents
Production (and management) of presentations
Maintaining a Tender Information Library
Developing Best Practice responses
Management of Key Contacts database
Maintain a PQQ / tender log
Maintenance of knowledge management system
Obtain feedback from submitted bids
Providing information to support PR and marketing activity
Production of marketing literature

Develop and implement strategies for winning bids:

Liaise with both internal and external parties to develop bid strategies
Oversee and lead bid teams in the planning and delivery of PQQ and bid submissions in line with agreed strategies
Act as a point of contact for customers during tendering process

To consider you will have proven experience of the following;
Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; Inc. Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
Experience of construction activity
Understanding of public sector procurement methods
Approachable people person
Good organisational skills
Ability to work to deadlines
Ability to coach responses from our construction teams
Good standard of English
Creative writer
Understanding of public sector procurement methods
