Description
- Lead the development of media relations strategies to promote the organisation's objectives and reputation.
- Create engaging, relevant content for various media outlets.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with journalists and other media personnel.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align media relations efforts with broader marketing strategies.
- Monitor media coverage and report on effectiveness of strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team.
- Handle crisis and reputation management as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends and adapt strategies as necessary.
Profile
A successful 'Senior Media Relations Officer' should have:
- A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
- Experience in a media relations role within the not-for-profit sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong understanding of the media landscape.
- Leadership experience, preferably within a team environment.
- Experience with crisis and reputation management.
