We’re hiring for a Machine Operative to join a leading distributor at their dynamic site in Newton Heath, Manchester.
In this role, you’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for operating machinery to ensure the accurate cutting and preparation of steel materials for various industries.
What’s on offer?
- £12.25 per hour
- Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:15pm
- Early finish on Fridays
- Paid breaks
- 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
- Annual bonus points system worth up to £125
What will you be doing as a Machine Operator?
- Setting up and operating multiple band saws
- Conducting continuous checks to ensure accuracy in cutting lengths and squareness
- Operating overhead cranes and forklift trucks to handle large steel rods safely
- Measuring materials using micrometres and other length measuring equipment
- Ensuring all quality standards and health & safety procedures are followed
- Packing steel products into bins for dispatch
What do you need?
- Experience working in a workshop environment
- Hands-on experience operating machinery
