You will analyse market trends, collaborate with vendors, and manage the product life cycle of all products within your category. The ideal candidate will have experience in Electrical products, possess a strong analytical skill set, and be an excellent negotiator.Key Responsibilities:- Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive offerings. Using a data driven approach, you will analyse external data to help highlight opportunities and inform purchasing proposals.- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to secure the best possible deals.- Product Selection: Propose new products that meet the needs of our target market and achieve internal sales and profit thresholds. Make informed decisions on product selection based on analysis of sales performance, seasonal trends and market opportunity.- Product Management: Ownership of product status within the business, proposing changes to existing products that help maximise the product life cycle, and managing the discontinuation and exit of any poor performing SKUs.- Critical Path Management: Fully accountable for category timelines, ensuring products are delivered into the business in a timely manner and executed to a high standard.- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory team and vendors to ensure POs are managed according to the forecasted demand.- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Trading, QA and Supply Chain to align product offerings and ensure optimum execution of both CORE and NEW products.About YouTo join us as a Buyer, you will need:- Proven experience as a Buyer or similar role within the retail industry- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends- The ability to build rapport and relationships with suppliers and colleagues- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills- Critical path workflow and management skills- A "right first time" attitude- A willingness to travel internationally, including to the Far East and Europe, as needed- Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteExposure to an online retailer who trades through marketplaces in the U.K and/or experience in Electrical products would be beneficial.
