Role: Buyer Salary: 35-40k Location: Bolton SF Recruitment are working with a forward-thinking manufacturer based in Bolton, who are looking for a Buyer to join their busy team. This is an excellent time to join this company, as they are currently going through a major period of growth. As the Buyer, you are primarily responsible for the ongoing procurement of materials, components, and equipment. Responsibilities include: - Manage purchasing email inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication throughout the process. - Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) efficiently. - Maintain and update Item Master records within the MRP system. - Expedite purchase orders to meet required deadlines. - Ensure timely booking of received goods into the system. - Represent the purchasing department in internal tier meetings. - Follow established processes for onboarding new suppliers. - Analyse supplier resources to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain. - Conduct and maintain risk assessments for key suppliers. - Handle multiple tasks effectively and leverage resources to influence stakeholders across the organization. - Drive supplier performance to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) and On-Time in Full (OTIF) metrics. - Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. - Oversee the NCR process for addressing supplier non-conformance issues. - Ensure continuous supply to the facility to support operational needs. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. - Manage stock levels effectively, balancing operational needs with cash flow considerations. - Negotiate competitive pricing and delivery timelines with suppliers. - Uphold a professional and consistent approach in all supplier interactions to foster strong partnerships.
