Are you an experienced Procurement Manager or Buyer ready for a new challenge? Our client, a growing company in the food industry, is looking for someone like you to join their team in Manchester. You'll have the chance to work with three popular UK brands and help expand their frozen product line in retail. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact!
The Role:
- Develop and manage the supplier strategy using 3rd party manufacturers.
- Source suppliers for both current and new products and negotiate the best commercial terms.
- Build strong relationships with the suppliers, managing overall performance and ensuring we’re all on the same page.
- Work closely with the Product Development, Supply Chain and Technical teams to maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for current products and new projects, making sure that they have the best partners for quality, cost, and flexibility.
- Lead the sustainability initiatives with suppliers to improve products, packaging, and processes.
- Spot opportunities for cost savings and lead those projects from start to finish.
- Negotiate supply contracts, with help from the external legal team when needed.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of suppliers, including completing scorecards.
- Attend industry events to build your network and find new partners.
- Keep an eye on market pricing trends and understand the competitive landscape.
- Stay updated on category innovations, including supply chain, product, and packaging trends.
- Perform analysis and reporting tasks, including cost modelling.
You:
- You have strong commercial and negotiation experience, ideally in an FMCG environment.
- You’re a great communicator and can influence people at all levels, with experience in managing relationships, accounts, or stakeholders.
- You’re curious, proactive, and always looking for ways to improve things.
- Experience in buying or procurement in a FMCG or consumer environment.
