Description

We have been retained by a Manufacturer who are looking for a Procurement Data & Insights Analyst to join the team, based in Middleton.

Hybrid - 2 days a week in office.

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Analyst will play a crucial role in collecting, structuring, and transforming data into actionable insights within the Procurement department.
  • This position requires a background in data analysis and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in BI tools, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Performance Tracking

  • Manage overall process for monitoring project performance, aligning with wider finance/operation teams.
  • Ensure project tracker is correctly updated to accurately reflect status and any variances to Budget are fully explained.
  • Monthly tracking supplier rebates for bulk chemicals, working closely with finance and procurement to ensure accurate reporting and timely resolution of issues.

Data Analysis

  • Analyse procurement data to identify trends, cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Proactively track risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor key commodities, providing regular market insights to procurement and wider business for customer pricing.
  • Support category managers through analytical assessment of supplier tenders.
  • Adhoc analysis as required to support team objectives.

Reporting

  • Preparation of monthly management reports.
  • Manage KPI tracking and reporting including working capital and cost reduction projects.
  • Develop and manage interactive dashboards in Business Information (BI) systems to optimise reporting.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team budget and forecast data inputs

Data Governance and Quality

  • Create robust process for procurement data governance and quality.
  • Drive solutions to improve data quality issues around spend categorisation and payment terms, ensuring alignment with category managers and supplier agreements.
  • Actively work with wider business to improve master data and master data processes.
  • Coordinate the recurring procurement data governance tasks with the business process owners.
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate various data sources to develop BI solutions.
  • Ensure compliance to procurement policies and procedures.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data analysis.
  • Experience of dealing with wide range of stakeholders, internal and external.
  • High proficiency in excel, including advance formulas and macros.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
