To support the Purchasing department in a busy Textile manufacturing business. The ideal person will be responsible in assisting in the procurement of goods and services, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring the smooth flow of the purchasing process

Client Details

My client a leading homeware supplier are seeking to add to their purchasing & product team. Due to strong company sales they are adding head count. The supply some of the leading premium retailers including John Lewis, White Company etc.

Description

  • Ensure that inventory levels are regularly monitored to prevent stockouts or overstock situations, which could lead to production delays or increased costs. Provide purchase suggestions based on stock data. Identify discrepancies & report them to the Senior Buyer
  • Analyze and address stock shortages caused by demand changes. Work with stakeholders to provide timely updates and solutions. Work with vendors to resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Ensure raw materials are available to meet increasing or fluctuating production demands. Collaborate with suppliers to assess availability and adjust orders for any additional raw material requirements.
  • Help maintain vendor relationships and provide customer service support to suppliers. Ensure that suppliers meet quality standards, adhere to delivery timelines, and stay within cost objectives. Assist with tackling discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Regularly assist with updating performance data on suppliers' On-Time In Full (OTIF) deliveries and Non-Conformance (NC) issues. Provide updates to vendors to help improve supplier performance.
  • Ensure that purchase orders (POs) are processed and tracked in a timely and accurate manner to prevent production delays. Monitor deliveries to ensure on-time arrival of materials.

Maintain proper documentation of procurement activities and ensure all processes align with company policies

Profile

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying support is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in managing procurement processes and handling supplier communications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in resolving supply chain challenges, such as delays or quality issues.
  • Time Management: Efficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot tables) and ERP systems.
