Job Description: Project Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects, working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and cost plans.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify efficiencies and savings.
  • Assess and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with company and project requirements.
  • Measure and value work completed on-site for interim and final payments.
  • Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts, and monthly valuations.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve project risks and variations.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including payment terms and procurement procedures.
  • Provide support and advice on procurement strategy and project feasibility.
  • Collaborate with the project team to achieve key project milestones on time and within budget.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring transparency and accuracy.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction industry.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and cost management processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using relevant software, such as cost management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
