This University's Project Group are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their Minor Works Team.

In this role, you will manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the design and construction of a diverse range of construction projects allocated to the team.

Work will involve alteration, refurbishment and planned maintenance construction projects across the University's estate together with small new build/extension projects.

Projects could range in value from £10k to £1M.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Project Quantity Surveyor, we want a candidate that can:

  • Provide a full range of project quantity surveying services supporting the Minor Works Team in the delivery of a variety of projects
  • Prepare cost estimates and develop and manage project budgets
  • Lead in the development of project procurement strategies specific to individual project requirements including the preparation and evaluation of tenders
  • Work across a variety of projects assisting the project design team from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with financial and procurement regulations and standards
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions
  • Prepare regular financial reports for stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • Appropriate academic qualification to degree level in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline
  • Chartered membership of a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS)
  • Proven experience of project QS work
  • Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC suite of contracts
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act 2024
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in relevant software and technology
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
