Job Title: Groundworks Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor operating across the North West. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in groundworks, infrastructure, and associated civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial control, cost management, and contractual administration of multiple projects.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of groundworks projects, from tender to final account.

  • Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.

  • Monitor project budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place.

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risks associated with contracts.

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess variations or additional costs.

  • Prepare detailed reports, cost estimates, and cash flow forecasts.

  • Negotiate contracts and procurement of materials and subcontractor services.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant contract terms and industry regulations.

  • Assist in dispute resolution and claims management as required.



Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the groundworks or civil engineering sector.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Full UK driving license (required for site visits).
