Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Manchester. This role will provide a great opportunity to work on diverse projects within the security and construction sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, contract administration, and financial management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and detailed cost plans for various projects.
- Managing contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Monitoring and controlling project costs, including preparing regular cost reports and forecasts.
- Managing variations, claims, and changes to contract scope.
- Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conducting risk assessments and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Preparing final accounts and ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection.
- Attending project meetings and providing expert advice on cost-related matters.
- Maintaining accurate records of all project costs and documentation.
- Assisting in the selection and procurement of materials and services.
What you will need to succeed:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction or security industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract law and procurement processes.
- Excellent financial management and cost control skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using Quantity Surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
