Sinclair Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client who are based in Greater Manchester.

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, conducting financial assessments, and maintaining effective cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings and specifications.
  • Residential background would be advantageous
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
  • Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project goals and budgets.
  • Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors through competitive bidding processes.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality of work, and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management team on a daily basis.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
  • If you have a residential background this would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools for cost estimation and project management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial documentation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
