My clienthave an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidatewill join an established multi-disciplinary consultancy but be part of theirnew and growing Manchester based office. The successful individual must have extensive experience in the new building social housing sector working and demonstrate a strong track record of delivery in the Northwest Residential sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone from this background to take on a leadership role working Directly alongside one of the Partners in the business. You will act as a Project Leader in the Manchester region.

Project Responsibilities:

  • Prepare budget estimates, cost planning, and manage tendering procedures.
  • Formulate briefs, fee proposals, and present schemes or services.
  • Prepare tender documents, assess and negotiate tenders.
  • Manage interim payments, final cost assessments, and contract variations.
  • Attend project meetings, take minutes, and manage day-to-day project execution
  • Develop and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Liaise with clients, present schemes, and manage project delivery.
  • Act as Contract Administrator/Employer's Agent on various building project.
  • Conduct site visits, issue inspection reports, and prepare feasibility studies.
  • Design and present project proposals, including cost estimates.
  • Obtain necessary statutory approvals (Planning, Building Control).
  • Prepare specifications, schedules, and tender documents.
  • Oversee contract administration, ensure compliance, and prepare maintenance manuals.
  • Delegate tasks while maintaining overall responsibility for achievement
  • Project Team Leadership responsibilities
  • Undertake all duties in accordance with Practice procedures.
  • Be responsible for other members of staff, co-ordinating their workload and ensuring their tasks and duties are carried out in accordance with Practice procedures.

Candidate Specification:

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification (BSc (Hons) degree or similar in Quantity surveying/ Project Management) experience and/or breadth of knowledge and competence commensurate with this position
  • MRICS or Associate membership of RICS or equivalent recognised qualification.
