About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established housebuilder in Manchester. This role offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of commercial aspects of residential developments, ensuring cost control, contract administration, and procurement processes are effectively managed.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial and contractual aspects of multiple residential projects.

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for new developments.

  • Conduct valuations, payments, and cost reporting to ensure projects remain financially viable.

  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts, ensuring value for money and quality standards.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant contracts, regulations, and company policies.

  • Identify and mitigate potential financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Work closely with internal teams, including procurement, site management, and technical teams, to deliver projects efficiently.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members as required.



Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding sector.

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, contracts, and procurement.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with wider teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and cost management systems.
