Location: Manchester Company: Tier 1 Main Contractor About the Role:Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex construction projects across a strong commercial pipeline of leisure, education, high-rise and frameworks. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring cost-effective delivery within agreed budgets.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cost plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiations, and subcontractor management.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on all commercial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant contracts, including JCT and NEC forms.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and cost implications.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice procedures for commercial management.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with experience working for a Tier 1 or 2 Main Contractor.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with both JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the pre-construction process, including feasibility studies, tendering, and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software packages, such as cost management systems and BIM.
