Join one of the largest Fuelling companies in the world working from their Manchester Site, an Upper Tier COMAH fuel storage facility, as a Terminal Operator.

This role is dependent on the successful applicant’s relevant experience, qualifications, and skillset. The terminal operates on a 24/7 basis, and staff are required to work in a shift pattern to support this continuous operation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the safe import of petroleum products and the loading of petroleum road tankers.
  • Manage work permitting and supervise site maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, process monitoring, and performance observations to ensure operations provide a safe environment for employees and contractors.
  • Review risk assessments and method statements.
  • Develop and issue work permits to maintenance contractors.
  • Handle inventory management and maintenance tasks.
  • Manage alarms and respond appropriately.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant industrial experience or similar transferable skills.
  • Computer literacy with I.T. experience.
  • A positive attitude towards safety and flexibility to work as part of the operations team, including lone working.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders such as Mainline Pipeline personnel, truck drivers, and maintenance contractors.
  • Qualifications in any of the following areas would be advantageous: trade qualification, health and safety, pipeline or vessel supervision, truck loading/offloading, experience in bulk petroleum storage, or project management.
