Employment Specialist
- Annual Salary: Up to £29,000 (depending on experience)
- Location: Greater Manchester (3 locations to choose from, Salford/City Centre/ Stockport)

We are seeking an Employment Specialist who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with health conditions or disabilities. This role involves travelling across Greater Manchester and requires a creative thinker who can effectively collaborate with various organisations to enhance service delivery. If you are committed to helping people find meaningful employment and can build strong relationships with employers, this role is for you.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 24 clients, guiding them from the start of their employment journey to successful job placement using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local employers to create job opportunities that align with clients’ strengths, needs, and preferences.
- Conduct regular visits and provide ongoing support to both clients and employers post-employment to ensure job retention.
- Collaborate with external agencies, including local colleges and training providers, to support clients’ employment goals.
- Engage in continuous learning about disability and mental health conditions to better support clients.
- Assist clients in developing vocational profiles and action plans, and support them with job searches, CV writing, application processes, and interview techniques.
- Educate and support employers about necessary adjustments and strategies for successful employment retention.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in engaging with employers and assisting individuals in securing employment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, capable of interacting effectively from frontline staff to CEO level.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
- Experience in guidance, advice, and counselling environments, preferably within health, social services, or the voluntary sector.
- Knowledge of disability issues and experience working with similar client groups is desirable.
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment and achieve job outcome goals.
- Strong organisational and written/verbal communication skills.
