About the client:
My client is one of the top ranking places in the UK and Europe delivering Higher Education. They are looking for a Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager to join them and manage a team of Risk and Assurance Analysts as well as covering training and awareness for the Directorate.

The Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager role:

  • Working closely with the Head of GRC, you will establish the development of the operational ITS Risk Strategy and oversee its implementation.
  • Execute both complex and substantial risk management activities within IT Services.
  • You will ensure key risk indicators (KRIs) are in place and that they are tracked, measured and reported on for consumption by managers and ITS senior leadership.
  • Implement reliable risk management processes reporting to key stakeholders, quantifying and documenting probability of risk occurrence and impact on the business.
  • Oversees the monitoring of risks and escalates any issues or outstanding actions with key stakeholders, both within and external IT Services
  • Desirable qualifications include: COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001 Lead Auditor, Information Systems, Risk Management or other related qualifications.

The Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager - Essential Skills:

  • Experience of working with management frameworks, e.g. ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, COBIT and NIST SP800
  • Knowledge of National / International standards associated with IT practice published by authorities such as IEEE, IEC, BSI and ISO.
  • Stakeholder engagement and the ability to establish relationships
  • Able to encourage and inspire others through inclusive leadership
  • Proficient in Statistical Sampling Techniques
