The Role

We are looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead and oversee Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) across multiple sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to take charge of SHEQ initiatives, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and drive continuous improvement within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure site-wide SHEQ compliance through audits, inspections, and reports to the MD.
  • Manage SHEQ systems (CHAS, UVDB, UKAS audits) and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, including urgent out-of-hours site visits if required.
  • Develop and update H&S plans, RAMS, and environmental plans with Contracts Managers.
  • Oversee staff training, compliance, and certification requirements.
  • Maintain training and qualification matrix.
  • Lead SHEQ initiatives, apply for industry safety awards (e.g., ROSPA), and promote environmental programs.
  • Attend client meetings and tender site visits, ensuring client safety requirements are met.
  • Drive a safety-first culture, enforcing policies and issuing disciplinary actions where necessary.
  • Vetting and management of on-going supply chain documentation.

Salary & Benefits:

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a proactive and experienced leader who can engage teams, enforce safety policies, and drive SHEQ improvements across multiple sites. About you:

  • 5+ years' experience as a SHEQ Manager in the utilities or civils sector
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certification
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety)
  • Willingness to travel frequently across multiple sites
  • Based within a commutable distance of Manchester
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to influence teams and enforce safety measures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word; Project desirable)
