We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Civil Engineering business which specialises in delivering Section 278 and Infrastructure works. The Estimator / Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in reviewing the tendering opportunities we receive by accurately estimating the costs associated with the Civil Engineering projects.

The recruitment process will be conducted in such a way as to result in the selection of the most suitable person for the job in terms of relevant experience, abilities, and qualifications.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed and accurate take-offs and cost estimates for Civil Engineering projects, including but not limited to roads, highway drainage, street lighting and traffic signals.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Working to deadlines to ensure we meet our client's needs.
- Utilise industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare accurate cost estimates, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Sub-Contractors to gather the necessary information and input detail for cost estimation.
- Evaluate material, labour and equipment costs to determine the most cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
- Identify and quantify project risks and contingencies to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, site visits and negotiations with clients and subcontractors as needed.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, market conditions and cost factors to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Assist in value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs without compromising quality or performance.
Environment and Working Hours
- The office is an open-plan environment with parking on-site
- Company core office hours are 8.30 am until 5.00 pm (4:30pm on Fridays)
