Bennett and Game have the pleasure of working with a tight-knit accountancy practice with a turnover just under £1 million located in Manchester. A 10-person open-plan office fosters collaboration and a well-rounded learning experience. Our client believes in training their team to handle all aspects of client affairs, providing exposure to the entire process, from accounts production to client management.

They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Client Accountant who is looking for a long-term career move with the potential to grow into a director/partner role. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with small practice experience and exposure to the SME sector.



Client Accountant Job Overview

  • Manage accounts production from start to finish.
    • Juniors and trainees handle smaller companies, while seniors work on more complex group companies.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Prepare accounts to draft stage.
  • Collaborate with client directors to review accounts.
  • Gradually participate in client meetings alongside directors, with the goal of independently managing a client portfolio.
  • Some involvement in corporate finance projects.


Client Accountant Job Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualification
  • Experience in a small practice setting with exposure to SME clients.
  • Strong technical skills in accounts preparation and a desire to manage client relationships.
  • Audit experience is a plus, though not a primary focus.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ambition to grow into a leadership role.


Client Accountant Salary & Benefits

  • Salary dependant on experience (industry standard for this position would typically range up to £50,000)
  • 20 days annual leave + statutory bank holidays (increases by 1 day per year after 5 years of service)
  • Ability to carry over untaken leave
  • Office closure from December 23rd (with the request to use one week of leave before Christmas)
