External Sales Engineer - Midlands & North - 40,000-45,000 (DOE)

External Sales Engineer required to join a well-established distributor of pressure control equipment for the oil & gas, automotive, medical, power generation and brewing industries.

My client is seeking someone to cover part of the Midlands and the North of the UK who has held one of the previous job titles; Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Account Manager or Business Development Manager. They have a UK turn-over of 6m and operate as an SME but have the financial backing of a global parent company.

As the successful External Sales Engineer you will have a strong technical background, with previous experience selling pressure management and fluid control equipment, including valves, pneumatics, filtration and gauges.

Working hours Mon-Thurs 8.45am - 5.30pm, Fri 8.45am - 14.45pm

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with suppliers to gain product support and pricing
  • Creating customer quotations
  • Inputting Customer orders
  • Work closely with Operations team, advising on specific customer requirements
  • Work with accounts to resolve any invoicing issues
  • General admin duties
  • Answering the telephones, assisting customers, or directing the call onwards to the relevant person
  • Advising management of any issues/problems
  • Attend relevant training on and off site.
  • Management of Existing Accounts (1.4m revenue)
  • New account Business development
  • Solutions sales - advising customers on the best products to solve their problems

Candidate requirements:

  • External Sales experience preferred as this is a customer facing position.
  • A good mix of "Hunter" and "Farming" sales experience.
  • Knowledge of valves, pneumatics, filtration, gauges, manifolds and related fluid control products.
  • Computer literacy skills, Microsoft office. Sage 200 experience preferred but not essential
