Biology Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher for a fantastic college in the Hulme, Manchester area on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Biology, this role is ideal for someone who has experience in preparing and delivering biology lessons to A Level students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons and fostering a positive learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, deliver, and assess Biology lessons to meet curriculum standards.
  • Engage students with dynamic teaching methods that cater to a range of learning styles.
  • Set clear objectives for all lessons, and ensure that they are communicated effectively to students.
  • Mark students’ work diligently and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching resources and schemes of work.
  • Support students in achieving their highest potential through tailored instruction and encouragement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Biology, including at A-Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology and general Science topics.
  • Understanding of SEN (Special Educational Needs) and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
