The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English Language and Literature to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring lessons are accessible, engaging, and inclusive.
  • Adapt your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, many of whom may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Inspire a love of reading, writing, and communication, while equipping students with the skills and qualifications they need for their future.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including pastoral staff and support workers, to ensure the holistic development of each student.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and initiatives that foster student well-being and engagement.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have a strong subject knowledge in English, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Be empathetic and resilient, with a passion for working with students who benefit from an Alternative Provision setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and collaboration with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for students.
