Geography Teacher

Geography Teacher - Manchester - January start A dedicated and passionate Geography Teacher is required to work at a popular 'Good' secondary school in Manchester, to join them on a full-time basis from January, teaching Geography to key stage 3 & 4 classes for 2 terms, until the end of the current academic year. This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced teachers. You will be required to become fully involved within the school and department, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings when they arise. You will also be required to be involved in the planning of the curriculum, and also deliver captivating, high standard lessons that will interest and stretch their learning. ou will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL. This is a Good school in terms of behaviour and attitude, personal development and leadership and management. The pupils enjoy the school and respect each other and the staff creating a caring environment for everyone involved. The leaders of the school have high expectation of the students which they rise to, striving for success at every opportunity. Many pupils enjoy various clubs and activities and take on additional responsibilities. These include music, drama, sports, and a range of groups to support the promotion of tolerance and respect. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS: Location Manchester Position Geography Teacher (KS3 & 4) Type of work Teaching Start date January 2025 Likely Duration 2 terms End date July 2025 Contract type Temporary Full time Minimum rate of pay from GBP162.31 per day Hours 8:30am 4pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in Geography Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Geography Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) Experience of teaching in a UK Secondary School (which we can reference) Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training) Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training) Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
