Role Overview
Equitas are seeking a confident and experienced History Teacher to join this exceptional school on a long-term cover basis. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality History lessons at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 levels, inspiring students and fostering a passion for History.
This part-time role requires availability to teach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with planning and marking responsibilities included.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that motivates and challenges students.
- Assess, record, and report on students' progress in line with school policies.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering mutual respect and discipline.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and progression across the History curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
- Support the school’s ethos, vision, and values, maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching History.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of all students.
