Tradewind are recruiting for a Secondary SEMH Teacher!

We are currently looking for a Secondary SEMH Teacher to start ASAP at a secondary alternative education provision in the Gorton area of Manchester, catering for children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The Role

  • SEMH Teacher for secondary aged pupils with SEMH needs at an alternative education provision in Gorton, Manchester.
  • Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
  • Start ASAP, long term, could turn perm for the right person.
  • Excellent pay up to £230/day DOE.
  • Paid PAYE via Tradewind. We don't use umbrella companies.
  • Equal pay to what the school would pay you on contract from the 13th week onwards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Secondary Teacher who's taught children with SEMH needs before.
  • Able to teach across the curriculum.
  • You must be able to differentiate lessons to the differing needs & levels of students.
  • Students will be of mixed ability, age and backgrounds.
  • You will need to work closely with your TAs to managing challenging behaviour while engaging, motivating & building strong relationships with your pupils.
  • You will also need to collaborate with school management, parents and outside professionals.
  • Candidates who have worked as a Humanities Teacher, Maths Teacher, Science Teacher, History Teacher, Geography Teacher, RE Teacher, Sociology Teacher, PSHE Teacher, Citizenship Teacher, Religious Studies Teacher, English Teacher, Drama Teacher, PE Teacher, Art Teacher, DT Teacher, ICT Teacher, Computer Science Teacher, FE Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Supply Teacher will be considered.

The School

  • Secondary SEMH provision in the Gorton area for children aged 11-16.
  • All students have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs, SEMH.
  • Class sizes of no more than 8 pupils including TA support.
  • Experienced & supportive management.
  • Collaborative teamwork atmosphere.
  • Focus on safety & inclusion.
  • Easily accessible by car, bus or train.
