We are looking for a enthusiastic and proactive Level 3 Teaching Assistant who will be supporting teaching and learning across a primary pupil referral unit setting in central/south Manchester area.

As a PRU, they pride themselves on providing a positive & holistic continuation to young people's education as their pupils struggle to access mainstream education due to Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs. Due to the nature of the role, candidates with a resilient growth mindset are warmly encouraged to apply.

Details of the role:

The successful candidate will be welcomed into a friendly, supportive team. The candidate will work as part of a professional team to create a programme of interventions.

The L3 TA role includes:

  • Assisting the class teacher in the organisation and preparation of the classroom.
  • Using lesson plans to lead small group sessions.
  • Working alongside children to support the learning in class.
  • Focusing on communication and behaviour techniques.
  • Differentiating activities and approach to meet individual needs, levels & interests.
  • Using the behaviour policy to support in the management of behaviour.
  • Supporting children with additional needs on a 1-to-1 basis.

To join us and be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have school-based experience and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working with SEMH needs is beneficial.
  • Be an effective team player and liaise with colleagues.
  • Hold a valid DBS that is on the Update Service
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Min. of two professional reference checks
  • Provide a CV with a full history.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
