We are looking for a enthusiastic and proactive Level 3 Teaching Assistant who will be supporting teaching and learning across a primary pupil referral unit setting in central/south Manchester area.
As a PRU, they pride themselves on providing a positive & holistic continuation to young people's education as their pupils struggle to access mainstream education due to Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs. Details of the role:
The successful candidate will be welcomed into a friendly, supportive team. The candidate will work as part of a professional team to create a programme of interventions.
The L3 TA role includes:
- Assisting the class teacher in the organisation and preparation of the classroom.
- Using lesson plans to lead small group sessions.
- Working alongside children to support the learning in class.
- Focusing on communication and behaviour techniques.
- Differentiating activities and approach to meet individual needs, levels & interests.
- Using the behaviour policy to support in the management of behaviour.
- Supporting children with additional needs on a 1-to-1 basis.
To join us and be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have school-based experience and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience working with SEMH needs is beneficial.
- Be an effective team player and liaise with colleagues.
- Hold a valid DBS that is on the Update Service
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
- Min. of two professional reference checks
- Provide a CV with a full history.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
