An excellent opportunity for an Assistant New Product Developer has arisen in a fast-growing, successful FMCG company.

This role is ideal for candidates with previous NPD experience or those with experience in related positions such as Assistant Buyer or Buying Assistant.

  • Work in the fast-paced New Product Development department, reporting to the project management team
  • Assist in successfully delivering projects to worldwide customers
  • Liaise with all areas of the business, including the Chinese manufacturing facility
  • Brief design amendments and arrange product and cosmetic samples
  • Manage the sampling process, ensuring samples meet customer briefs and are fit for purpose
  • Liaise with the graphics team to prioritize design and artwork
  • Brief design amendments and arrange product and cosmetic samples

  • Review and resolve any issues with samples
  • Assist with cosmetic colour selection and product costing
  • Brief new formulation developments based on client requirements
  • Work closely with in-house chemists to develop skincare and colour cosmetic formulations in the UK and China
  • Build product ranges through a selection of cosmetics and colours
  • Communicate with the China team to resolve queries and ensure timely information supply
  • Source components and formulations from Far East and UK factories
  • Work closely with the regulatory team to understand challenges and technical issues

Experience

  • Keen interest in cosmetics and skincare, with up-to-date knowledge of market trends
  • Creative eye, problem-solving skills, and great attention to detail
  • Ability to work intuitively on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships
  • Team player with enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
