If you have experience in sourcing, purchasing, and technical evaluation within the chemical sector, this is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to their growth and success.The Role:
  • Manage and oversee the procurement of technical materials and chemicals, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition.
  • Oversee the entire procurement process from sourcing and selection to contract negotiations and supplier management
  • Establishing and preserving strong working connections with key suppliers
  • Ensure materials sourced, comply with technical specification and regulatory requirements
  • Create backup plans, alternate sourcing techniques, and supply chain resilience into action.
  • Maintain a network of pertinent supplier contacts through trade exhibitions and suitable travel and regularly benchmark to guarantee cost competitiveness.
  • Create and preserve effective channels of communication with other departments and take an active part in projects that call for the sourcing of new chemicals.
  • Collaborate with operational and supply chain functions to guarantee that lead times, ordering trends, and stock levels are all managed in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Travel to both sites when required (Trafford Park and Huddersfield)
The candidate:
  • Hold a degree in Chemistry or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in a purchasing role
  • Experienced in use of ERP systems
  • Chemical industry experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Proficient in CRM tools and Microsoft Office
