The Role

As a Scenic Workshop Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of scenic operations, leading a skilled team of carpenters, painters, and other craftspeople. You’ll ensure that their scenic workshop delivers high-quality production on time and within budget, while also contributing to the creative process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the scenic workshop team
  • Oversee the construction and preparation of scenic elements
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Maintain inventory and manage supplier relationships
  • Provide input on construction design and material specifications
  • Hands-on involvement in the construction of scenic products
  • Collaborate with the Head of Scenic for planning and resource management
  • Train and mentor junior team members
  • Assist other departments in meeting overall business needs

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in scenic construction
  • Excellent carpentry skills and knowledge of various materials

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and CAD plans

  • Ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and a customer-focused attitude
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and HSE regulations
  • Experience with CNC machines and 3D printing (advantageous)
