Children Support Worker

Job Description: Children’s Residential Support Worker Seeking Transition to Education Sector (Primary Schools & Teaching Assistant Roles)

Location: Central Manchester, Salford, South Manchester

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals with a background in children's residential support to transition into the education sector. This exciting opportunity allows you to utilise your experience supporting vulnerable children in residential settings and apply those skills in primary schools. As part of this role, you will be joining a supportive and dynamic educational environment where you will play a key role in helping children thrive both socially and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students in groups and one-on-one.
• Manage and support students with challenging behaviours and additional needs.
• Provide emotional and social support to children, fostering a safe, nurturing environment.
• Help with lesson planning and support individual learning needs.
• Maintain communication with staff and parents to ensure student well-being and progress.
• Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe school environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience in children’s residential care, particularly with emotional and behavioural challenges.
• Passion for education and helping children succeed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of child development and safeguarding policies.
• Flexibility and a desire to support diverse learning needs.
• Relevant qualifications in child care or education (desirable but not essential).
