Role Overview: 

  • Safeguarding: Ensuring the children’s safety and reporting any concerns.
  • Moving and Handling: Assisting children with mobility needs.
  • Personal Care: Helping with hygiene, dressing, and health monitoring.
  • Booking Appointments: Scheduling and accompanying children to medical and educational appointments.
  • Emotional Wellbeing: Providing emotional support and building trusting relationships.
  • Laundry and Cooking: Managing laundry and preparing nutritious meals.
  • Personal Care Plans: Developing and updating individualized care plans.
  • Handover to Other Staff: Communicating important information to ensure continuity of care.

This role requires compassion, patience, and the ability to handle various tasks while prioritizing the children’s safety and emotional well-being.

Requirements:Driver preferable (or willing to travel around) for community home visits. Strong assessment and review skills.

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferably in residential support/health and social care.

Experience working with children in a residential setting is essential

Experience with children who have disabilities and mainstream care homes.

Expertise in safeguarding and record keeping.
