Now Education are working in partnership with a primary school pupilreferral unit located in Longsight Manchester who require a Learning Support Assistant to join their specialist team.

The role is to start asap, working Monday - Friday 8.30am-4.00 until the end of the academic year. There is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The pupil referral unit has most recently been described by Ofsted as a Good School. Staff and SLT at the school strive to provide KS1 and KS2 education through specialist educational activities for children with an education health care plan, primarily identifying SEMH along with ADHD, Dyslexia, ASC. MLD and Complex and Challenging Behaviour.

The school caters for children who are at risk of being permanently excluded or already have been excluded from mainstream education. There are a high number of vulnerable students who have experienced abuse or neglect at home and therefore suffer from mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will joina team of staff who are proud of the work that they do with the young people who attend.

They use a child centred and solution focused approach which helps their young people develop a sense of resilience and adaptability. The school is an accredited nurturing school with social and emotional education at the heart of everything they do.

The ideal candidate will have working within a primary school setting previously, preferablywith experience of working with young people who may be disengaged, hard to reach, vulnerable and at risk.

You will be able to use a range of strategies to overcome pupils challenging behaviour and successfully build relationships with them which remove any barriers to learning they may have.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the UK education system and have a natural and nurturing approach.

Recent and up to date Team teach training would be a real advantage.
