Now Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a pupil referral unitin Salford who require two learning support assistants to join their team of committed staff.
The pupil referral unit caters for around 70 pupils who are all Key Stage 4 who have a range of SEND such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Complex and Challenging Behaviour.
All of the students have been excluded from mainstream school either on a permanent or temporary basis.
The role is to start asap and continue until at least the end of this academic year. There is the opportunity for a permanent position for the right member of staff.
The hours of work are Monday - Friday 8.30am-4pm.
The nature of this role means that the ideal candidate will have a full drivers license.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a staff team who really are committed to the well being of the pupils in their care.
Staff take a nurturing approach in order to develop positive and productive relationships with the young people and help them to develop to their full potential.
The successful candidate will have the ability to support pupils both on a one to one basis and within small groups.
You will ideally have some experience of working with young people who are aged 15-16 although this does not necessarily need to be within an educational setting.
If you have the ability to work positively and proactively with young people who may be classed as 'hard to reach' then it is likely that you would be successful in this role.
If you have worked in residential support, sports coaching, youth work, care and support or a summer camp abroad, then it likely that you have the right skills, attitude and experience for this role.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain a full time and long term role in an educational setting which really does turn around the lives of the young people they work with.
