Missing from Home Support Worker - Immediate Start!

Pay Rate: Starting from £14 per hour.

Contract Length - 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.

We are assisting a local authority in the appointment of an experienced Support Worker to join their Missing from Home Team in Manchester!

Within this role you will be expected to provide services to children and young people who are reported to be missing at a targeted services level. You will provide support and interventions to children, young people and families including the completion of Independent Return Interviews to those reported missing to the police.

As a Support Worker you will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting children, young people and their families where missing from home concerns have been raised.
  • Undertaking timely Independent Return Interviews to ensure the appropriate provision of help and support with an aim of reducing missing from home episodes.
  • Engage with wider partners to recognise and respond to concerns regarding children and young people.
  • Ensure the appropriate gathering of information to collate and share with partners to ensure that intelligence is considered and informs practice.
  • Undertake and EHA (Early Help Assessement) to determine the need for Social Care services to assess the need for social care services, including the identification of risk, the need for safeguarding children and young people to determine the method of intervention.
