A welcoming Rusholme-based school is looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with students who have SEND needs and learning disabilities, helping them develop important skills and access their education in a positive environment. Anyone with similar experience or who has worked with Adults or Young People in care is welcome to apply!
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with students on a one-to-one basis, fostering confidence and supporting emotional regulation through daily activities.
- Assist small groups with focused learning sessions and practical skill-building exercises, following the guidance of the teaching team.
- Provide classroom support to teachers, helping maintain an inclusive and supportive setting.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external professionals to create a consistent support network for each student.
- Keep detailed records of student progress and relay insights to the teaching staff for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Prior experience with young people or adults with special needs is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach.
- Ability to adapt to different learning needs and work well as part of a team.
- Patience, resilience, and a commitment to helping students overcome challenges.
