We have the opportunity for a person to join a team of 4 staff and 12 citizens with care and support needs. The role is a Senior Support Worker, supporting citizens who have enduring mental health diagnoses. The service is based in the Chorlton area and provides a service for 12 adults of all genders. You will be based within a supported accommodation with support and housing duties to oversee day to day.

The service is a property containing 12 flats, additional to this there are shared areas and a staff office and staff area for sleeping overnight/day use.

You will have a level of responsibility to manage rotas and staffing needs as they may arise. You will work with the Service Manager and Support Workers to ensure individual support is delivered as outlined in personal plans. You will provide direct supervision and observation to support staff in role as a senior support worker. You will have planned supervisions with your own line manager as well as access to training required to carry out and enhance your skills and knowledge. You will have allocated audit responsibility for areas such as but not exhaustive to, Health and Safety, incident reporting, safeguarding, service user outcomes.

You will work directly alongside individuals with trauma informed, recovery-focused approaches and values, enabling people to enjoy a fulfilling and valued lives, to participate in the community and to develop their abilities. You will contribute to the development of tenancy related housing skills and positive tenancy management.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, inclusive, organised and caring individual with forward-thinking qualities to support service users and support staff to achieve personal development and goals.

You will have the opportunity of working in partnership with agencies involved in peoples support and care planning. The successful applicant will be able to respond to unplanned change, to a fast-paced environment, with a positive and proactive attitude. The role will involve promoting the rights of service users with mental health needs to move on positively to greater independence with long term quality of life and good housing.

You will be expected to co-produce support plans with the service users that promote their choices and independence, paying particular attention to areas such as daily living skills, community outreach, and housing goals. You are likely to engage in a wide range of tasks and activities as part of your role. You must be willing to travel within the South Manchester area in order to provide support to our service users in their own accommodations.
