We have a fantastic opportunity for NineĀ Housing Solutions Officer at Manager City Council, this is a full-time temporary role for the next 3Ā months with the possibility of extension.
What is the role?
Manchester City Council are looking for NineĀ Housing Solutions Officers, who will deliver high quality support for service users, managing existing and future risks through assessment, and creating plans which ensure the individual needs of service users are appropriately considered. You will provide advice and expertise to partner agencies and stakeholders to promote the service and represent the rights and needs of the vulnerable residents of Manchester.
What are your responsibilities?
- Establish and maintain relationships with service users to challenge their existing patterns of behaviour. Ā
- Work proactively with appropriate stakeholders to assess the individualās needs and ensure positive outcomes.
- Provide support and advice to service users which provide the opportunity to engage with appropriate local and national organised and community-based services.
- Monitor, evaluate and review assessments as required determining suitable adjustments to ensure that service users are able to achieve their agreed goals.
- Work with colleagues and stakeholders to produce plans that use service users individual needs to identify and reduce their vulnerability to risk situations.
- Promote the service strategies across the organisation and to other statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Closely work with partner agencies and stakeholders by contributing and participating in new initiatives to support independence and opportunities for vulnerable residents of Manchester.
- Ensure all records, processes and systems are up to date and maintained to assist with data collection and performance management.
- Ideally looking for candidates with part 7 knowledge of the Housing Act 1996.
- Proven and proficient in drafting s.184 decision letters.
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple demands, and excellent knowledge of homelessness and experience in working to prevent it.
- Looking for candidates with a knowledge of safeguarding and vulnerable citizens.
- Experience of writing legal letters, or candidates with a care background would be great
What skills do you Need?
- Must have recent experience of working as a Housing Solutions Officer, ideally for either a local authority or housing association or even as a support worker/care background.
- Strong IT Skills, as you will be using Microsoft Office, and internal Council IT systems.
- Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and managers.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Working Hours are 9.00am - 16.30pm, and late shift on a Rota Basis 10.00am - 17.30pm Monday to Friday.
