An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Adults Commissioning Team in Trafford. We are seeking an experienced Specialist Commissioner to oversee Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Neuro Diversity Commissioning, with additional responsibilities in Older Peoples Commissioning as needed.
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop and manage contracts with service providers to enhance quality and expand services.
- Drive initiatives to support improved support models for residents, ensuring efficient contract management and fostering innovation within the team.
- Collaborate closely with the Commissioning and Senior Leadership Team, and Health and Social Care partners to ensure integrated working arrangements.
- Oversee various contracted functions within commissioning, focusing on continuously improving services to meet community needs.
- Lead strategic initiatives relevant to the integration of health and social care in Greater Manchester, managing resources and partnership contributions effectively.
- Extensive experience as a lead commissioner, ideally within adult social care, mental health, or services for vulnerable people.
- Demonstrable track record of partnership working to deliver change and improve outcomes for residents.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of inspiring and leading teams towards achieving commissioning aspirations.
- Proficient in managing substantial commissioning budgets and delivering value for money.
- Minimum of 2 years recognised management experience in the sector.
- Degree or other recognised professional qualification.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and develop costed proposals
You will also work closely with key partners within Trafford, particularly leading on strategic initiatives relevant to the integration of health and social care in Greater Manchester, working closely with partners across the Northwest. This will include managing resources (staff and budgets) as well as partnership contributions.
You must be able to demonstrate experience in managing and developing services, alongside strong leadership abilities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You should also have a minimum of 2 years recognised management experience, in the sector and hold a minimum of a degree or other recognised professional qualification. Project management experience is required for this post.
On occasion the role may require the post holder to attend provider services outside of core hours.
There will be an expectation to attend the office Trafford Town Hall a minimum 2 days a week but may vary due to in person commitments.
