Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Team leader in the South Manchester area. As a team leader you will be the equivalent to house managers and have more responsibility to help support and shape the lives of the vulnerable individuals.

A Team Leader will effectively manage the day-to-day aspects of the care setting while managing the staffing team below them ensuring that the services run smoothly. You will play an active role in multidisciplinary meetings and management meetings. As a team leader your input, knowledge and experience are valued.

Job description

  • Manage daily operations within each individual home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for service users.
  • Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individual person-centred care plans tailored to each service users need.
  • Provide direct support to residents, including assistance with personal care, mobility, and daily activities.
  • Collaborate with staff to monitor service users' health and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of service users care and progress in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage a team of support workers helping, guiding and supporting them so they can perform their duties safely and accurately according to the job description
  • Support the deputy manager to ensure quality audits are completed that meet regulatory and legal standards and requirements
  • Lead team meetings that could be inductions, supervisions, appraisals, staff meetings and sickness reviews.
  • Carry out a wide range of audits with the support of the quality assurance.
  • Always providing a caring and proactive environment, where high standards of professional practice are maintained
  • Lead by example and act in accordance with the policies and procedures.
  • To act within the social care code of conduct

Requirements

  • Previous experience in residential, supported living or Domiciliary care settings.
  • Strong leadership skill set with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of senior care practices and familiarity with person centred care plans is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • A compassionate approach towards individuals, demonstrating patience and understanding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care would be advantageous but are not mandatory and can be provided.
