They are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behaviour Specialist to join their dedicated team in supporting students' social and emotional development.

Role Overview:As a Behaviour Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting positive behaviour across the school. You will work closely with staff, parents, and pupils to implement strategies that foster an environment conducive to learning, personal growth, and emotional resilience. Your role will include supporting pupils with specific behavioural challenges, providing guidance to teaching staff, and ensuring the school’s behaviour policies are upheld effectively. The role is a contracted role until July 2025 with the potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and support students with behavioural and emotional needs, creating tailored interventions and strategies.
  • Work with teachers, teaching assistants, and parents to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Offer one-to-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Help to maintain a calm and positive learning environment across the school.
  • Provide support during challenging situations, promoting conflict resolution and restorative practices.
  • Work closely with external agencies, such as educational psychologists, to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive school culture.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs, Psychology, or Behavioural Science (e.g., degree or equivalent training).
  • Proven experience working with children in a school or similar setting, particularly in behaviour management and emotional support.
  • Excellent understanding of child development, social and emotional learning, and the factors affecting behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Knowledge of relevant strategies and interventions for managing challenging behaviour.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach to behaviour support.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Team Teach or equivalent
