Our Client, Tameside Council, is seeking a Team Manager to join their Children's Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • The team that you will cover will be made up of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner and 7 Social Workers.
  • The team manager will lead the team on a 5-week duty Cycle, the team will go on duty every 5th week ensuring all the families that need our intervention that week are supported and appropriately assessed. This will happen using the Signs of Safety model of practice to achieve fantastic outcomes for our children.
  • You must have a caring and friendly nature and you put children, young people and their families at the heart of all you do
  • Significant knowledge and fundamental understanding of research, innovation and good practice
  • Experience and knowledge of working with children and families in CIN, CP and Court proceedings
  • Experience of managing and leading a team of workers to achieve effective outcomes for children and families and driving performance.
  • In depth knowledge of statutory and legislative frameworks which underpin effective care planning
  • Experience of a broad spectrum of services within the field of social work with children and families either through social work experience or through training
  • The ability to work as part of a team and alongside colleagues from other areas of Children’s services
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and reorganise the workload to meet conflicting demands"

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
  • Must have minimum of 3 years Post Qualifying experience working as a Qualified social worker
  • Must have experience as a Social Work Team Manager
